Overview

Kemin Industries is seeking a Compensation Manager to join their Human Resources team.  This newly created role is the internal Kemin expert/advisor on all compensation matters, including competitive salary structures, incentive plans, and ensuring attraction & retention of top talent.  In addition, this role will ensure global coordination across Kemin in regards to market data, consistent mapping of Kemin jobs, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Develop compensation programs in order to attract, retain and motivate employees.
  • Gather & analyze compensation data from both internal & external sources to drive compensation initiatives and decisions.
  • Responsible for the oversight/management of all compensation programs including base pay, bonus/incentives, and executive compensation
  • Direct the development & application of creating accurate job descriptions, job analysis/evaluation, and external pricing of jobs 
  • Develop and participate in compensation surveys in order to gain understanding of market trends and changing conditions; sssess findings and impact on the company
  • Prepare statistical data and reports concerning compensation activities, programs or results. Assess report findings and make recommendations to management as needed.
  • Responsible for developing pay guidelines & policies.  Determine compliance with legal requirements and recommend actions for new and evolving legislation.
  • Interpret and make judgments pertaining to related policies/procedures
  • Manage Kemin relationships with salary survey vendors 
  • Work with Global HR team in the purchase of and consistent use of competitive salary surveys, partnering with Busines Partners to ensure coordination of consistent Kemin job mapping to external sources
  • Oversight of repricing/updating of market pricing
  • Manage the ongoing administrative processes related to the creation of new job codes, geographic differentials, annual aging of salary ranges, recommending merit increase budget, etc. 
  • Provide leadership of the US Comp & Benefits Committee in conjunction with the Benefits Manager
  • Champion the audit of compensation programs, coordinating with outside agencies as required
  • Back-up to Kemin Payroll
  • Attend compensation specific and industry relevant meetings, staying abreast of compensation trends
  • Address all employee compensation questions.
  • Partner with Kemin Mergers & Acquisition team on all compensation related issues

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent. CCP or related certification preferred
  • 5+ years' experience in the design, development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs
  • Experience in Payroll is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience with plan design, legal interpretation, cost/benefit analysis, vendor analysis, communication development and systems and related platforms
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Intermediate skills in Office365
