Customer Laboratory Services Associate

Kemin Nutrisurance is hiring a Customer Laboratory Services Associate to join their team! The primary purpose of this position is to execute and support customer laboratory service (CLS) and application research for the pet food and rendering markets.

This position will support Kemin’s customers through the sample preparation and chemical analysis of pet food and ingredient samples, accurate recordkeeping and data entry, and operation/maintenance of laboratory equipment.

• Responsible for performing routine problem solving, preliminary data analysis and accurately checking large amounts of data.
• Follow all assigned SOPs, assist in SOP development, and test protocols without assistance.
• Assist with method development and method validation
• Generate accurate data consistently.
• Utilize laboratory information management system (LIMS) to record data and events.
• Keep detailed records in compliance with ISO 17025 program.
• Must be able to operate basic and intermediate lab equipment without assistance.
• Perform basic maintenance and upkeep on assigned lab equipment.
• Follow good laboratory and safety practices.
• Support the product launch process and successful product launches for Kemin and customers.
  

• Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 0+ years of related experience or

  • Associate’s degree with 3+ years of related experience

  • Degree must be in a scientific field (Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, etc.) with some lab experience.

• Good communication skills (written and oral).

• Strong analytical skills.

• Basic descriptive statistics.

• Basic computer and MS Office knowledge and experience. Intermediate skills with Excel including ability to use simple formulas and generate graphs.

• Good laboratory skills.

• Must be a team player.

• Must be able to see.

• Detail-oriented and ability to multitask.
