Business Analyst- Data Governance

Location: Chennai

The Data Governance Business Analyst plays a pivotal role in standardizing data entry processes, improving data quality, and strengthening the organization's data governance framework. This position acts as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring business needs are clearly translated into actionable data governance requirements. The analyst partners with data owners, stewards, and IT to define data standards, guide policy implementation, and align data solutions with business objectives. This role helps deliver scalable solutions that enhance data quality, integrity, and usability across the organization.

• Facilitate workshops, interviews, and working sessions to gather business requirements related to data governance, process improvements, and system changes.
• Translate business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements for developers, data engineers, and system administrators.
• Evaluate and recommend data governance tools and platforms, supporting implementation efforts.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
• Conduct data quality assessments and support the creation of data quality rules and metrics.
• Lead process mapping to document and standardize data entry and management processes, identifying gaps and partnering with stakeholders to design improved future-state processes.
• Lead triage efforts for data issues, coordinating with stakeholders to prioritize resolution.
• Establish and manage a standardized process for escalating and resolving data issues, ensuring proper documentation and stakeholder involvement.
• Coordinate root cause analysis and impact assessment for data issues, and prioritize remediation efforts based on business value and risk.
• Work with data owners, stewards, and custodians to ensure effective data management practices.
• Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to stakeholders at multiple levels of the organization.
• Develop training materials and deliver user training related to new processes, standards, or data governance tools.
• Analyze data sets to identify data quality issues, trends, anomalies, and root causes.
• Lead change impact assessments using quantitative evidence.

B.E/B.Tech IT/ CS with 5+ plus years of experience in business analytics.
