Overview

Kemin Application Solutions team is seeking an Automation Engineer! This team is responsible for product application systems and services that Kemin offers to it's customers.  The Automation Engineer will develop, analyze, implement, monitor, and maintain automated dosing processes to required specifications, focusing on safety, reliability, and quality.   

 

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Engineering, with experience in areas of PLC's, SCADA, Ladder Logic, Script-based programming, hydro-mechanics, electro-mechanical engineering; measurement and control technology; processing engineering

Responsibilities

  • Develop and install innovative PLC, HMI, and Scada solutions to maximize the applicator efficiency. 
  • Responsible for keeping system schematics and drawings up to date, managing version history.
  • Responsible for researching technical, economical, and software improvements.
  • Recommend and review instrument specifications for projects.
  • Build and install various application equipment.
  • Integrate application technology into customer processing systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair existing application systems at customer locations.
  • Foster a positive team environment and assist coworkers as required
  • Ability to assemble and install application equipment at customer sites across North America.
  • Participate in attending local exhibitions, seminars, trainings, and workshops.
  • Assist in development of new application systems.
  • Provide day to day support to customers, sales team, and KAS Engineers.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, with 1 to 3 years experience in an industrial environment, including field work at customer locations
  • Experience in liquid dosing systems and Feed Mill process technology is desired, but not required
  • Electronic Control (PLC) and automation systems. 
  • Capability to learn and understand electrical and communication systems
  • Strong affinity for industrial automation
  • Profound knowledge and understanding of mechanical and electrical schematics
  • Ability to work independently or in a structured team
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Self-starter and highly organized
  • Quality minded 
  • Travel up to 50%
