Overview

We’re hiring! Kemin Food Technologies is seeking an Account Representative to join our Sales team. In this role, you will support sales growth by managing and converting inbound and outbound leads, engaging with both prospective and existing customers primarily via phone and email.

 

The Account Representative maintains inside sales programs within an assigned portfolio by proactively communicating with customers about available services, products, pricing, and new offerings. This role is responsible for meeting budgeted sales and gross margin targets by securing new business and renewing existing orders. The Account Representative works under close supervision and collaborates closely with field sales and internal partners to support customer success.

 

This position is located at our WW Headquarters in Des Moines, Iowa.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve consistent growth in sales and gross margin, in accordance with sales budgets.
  • Own and manage sales leads, coordinating closely with sales partners to support efficient hand-off and conversion. 
  • Ensure that a sale is successfully completed with involvement at each stage of the sales process.
  • Identifying and qualifying prospective customers.
  • Developing and advancing sales projects for existing customers.
  • Establishing mutually beneficial business relationships with key motivators at assigned customers.
  • Monitor competitive activity and trends within each territory.
  • Making technical sales presentations on Kemin programs/products, with guidance from the Commercial team.
  • Helping the customer understand Kemin products and implementation strategies.
  • Closing the sale and implementing the startup programs.
  • Obtain an average of 20 meetings with customers each month
  • Responsible for utilizing CRM for sales reports and activities.
  • Knowledgeable of the features, benefits and use of Kemin products.
  • Knowledgeable and able to utilize selling techniques as described through the Kemin sales process and have the ability to achieve the following Multi-level Customer Contacts within their respective Account Portfolio’s as well as introduce New Products.
  • The Account Representative may work together with a more senior Account Manager as part of a team.
  • Internal communications are typically limited to transactional related issues. External
    communications are focused on developing specific business with targeted customers.
  • May attend industry tradeshows, conferences, and events.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in a related scientific field, business, or closely related with up to 3 years of experience in Sales
  • Time management, prioritizing of duties, organization of data, analyzing customer problems and recommending appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and electronically are also critical to the job function.
  • A high degree of energy, self-motivation and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience in managing projects to a successful completion.
  • Proficiency with computer operation, including use of CRM and MS Office products.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communications skills.
  • Travel 15%.
