Overview
Location: Chennai
Position Objective:
- Be a safety officer in a corporate office/manufacturing industry is responsible for minimizing risks, promoting a culture of safety, and ensuring that all safety protocols and legal requirements are met. Required proactive approach helps in preventing accidents and creating a safer and healthier work environment for employees. Required Audits skill to Identify of potential hazards and Risks in respective workplace and followup with corrective actions and ensure the safe workplace.
Responsibilities
- Ensure employees are provided with the correct PPE, such as gloves, helmets, goggles, and ear protection.
- Monitor the use of PPE and make sure it is properly maintained and replaced as needed.
- Conduct regular checks to ensure compliance with PPE usage and maintain the required PPE stock.
- Identify potential hazards (physical, chemical, mechanical, etc.) in the manufacturing environment.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure that necessary preventive measures are in place.
- Recommend appropriate safety measures to reduce or eliminate risks.
- Assisting for national, regional, and local safety & Environment regulations and ensure the organization is in compliance.
- Assisting to prepare the reports and documentation for regulatory compliance for EHS.
- Assisting to coordinate with regulatory agencies and oversee any inspections or audits conducted by external authorities.
- Provide safety training to all employees on safe work practices, emergency procedures, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct the Safety toolbox meeting to all employees and contractors to reduce the workplace hazards.
- Promote a safety culture within the organization by encouraging safe behavior and practices.
- Maintain and monitor the performance of Fire fighting and safety equipments with internal & external team.
- Conduct the Develop and maintain emergency response plans (e.g., fire, chemical spills, workplace accidents.
- Organize and conduct regular drills (fire drills, first aid drills, etc.) to ensure employees are familiar with emergency protocols.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned for continuous improvement in EHS performance.
Qualifications
- BE- in Chemical/ Mechanical with 10+ years experience in EHS function or ME in Industrial Safety with 7+ Years of experience in EHS.
