The Commercial manager is responsible for Growth and Profitability to meet/exceed annual plan for Kemin AquaScience (KAQ) in the Shrimps and fish feed production in Ecuador and Peru.  This role with P&L responsibility and operational role of the Commercial Manager reports directly to the Commercial Director. The Commercial Manager is a servant-leader, highly motivated, self-driven and experienced techno-commercial leader with a proven sales & marketing track record.

Responsibilities

  • Solely responsible for establishing Kemin AquaScience presence and driving sales & marketing activities in the designated geography.
  • Responsible for managing all operations within Ecuador and Peru as well as interactions with the distributors in the region. This involves taking responsibility for net sales, gross margin, and operating income targets for the area.
  • Responsible for the annual regional budget and for producing a detailed annual business operating plan.
  • Provide directions to the Kemin team through frequent interaction and communication with target customers, KAQ commercial, research, support functions and the leadership team.
  • Coordinate with KAQ for all technical, commercial, administrative and legal and regulatory assistance. Closely work together with the Marketing, Customer Service, Supply Chain and Operation team in Valinhos.
  • Monitor the competitive activity and market trends and regularly report on those trends. Advise the executive leadership team on key planning issues and make recommendations on important business decisions.
  • Develop and maintain prospect and customer list based on strategic marketing data and other sources for sales leads.
  • Penetrate prospect target accounts for new business as well as establish and work with partners in the territory.
  • Responsible for the monthly sales forecast and its accuracy.
  • Set and manage Kemin Ecuador and Peru product pricing in-alignment with Kemin pricing policies that allow the achievement of the consolidated gross margin and sales goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an animal science or aquaculture related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the aquaculture industry.
  • A strong understanding of how the aquaculture business process operates.
  • The Commercial Manager needs to be able to deliver the highest standards of customer service.
  • Excellent interpersonal and people-management skills.
  • Must have both the sales skills and technical knowledge to make presentations and lead customer discussions to advance the sales process.
  • Possesses good communication skills ideally with an acceptable verbal and written English ability and excellent networking skills.
  • Must be able to understand the products and services provided by the company.
  • Must be familiar with computer software programs eg Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc
