Overview

Kemin is currently hiring a talented and dedicated Quality Control Associate to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for testing raw materials and finished goods using a variety of analytical and wet chemistry techniques. Your work will include product sampling, chemical analysis, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting, as well as detailed project reporting. You’ll also collaborate closely with Operations and other business units to ensure our high standards of customer satisfaction are consistently met. This full-time position follows a Monday through Friday schedule, with working hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. If you're passionate about precision and quality, we’d love to have you on board.

Responsibilities

  • Collect samples, prepare shipments and inspect raw materials and finished goods, as applicable.
  • Perform various types of raw material and finished good testing.
  • Responsible for raw material and finished goods release, with authorization, as applicable.
  • Record basic data.
  • Review batch and/or test records and bring variances forward, as applicable.
  • Must follow all procedures and SOPs and assist with updates.
  • Must maintain proper quality documentation.
  • Generate and review Certificates of Analysis.
  • Support Change Management process as necessary.
  • Daily data entry into M3 and LIMs, as applicable
  • Report any nonconformities by following applicable SOPs.
  • Send out supplier evaluation samples, as applicable.
  • Assist with method validation.
  • Must follow good lab procedures, safety, etc.
  • Must work closely with cross functional teams (including Operations, R&D, and other quality groups.)
  • Follows and maintains an environment of food and/or feed safety in compliance with rules and regulations, as applicable.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience:
    • High School Diploma, with 5+ years of related experience or
    • Associates Degree with 2 years of related experience or
    • Bachelor’s Degree (4-year degree) with 0-3 years of related experience.
  • Ability to operate, troubleshoot, perform maintenance, instruct and perform method validation on lab equipment.

  • Minimum working knowledge of lab instruments.

  • Good written and oral communication skills.

  • Must have basic computer skills, including MS Office, M3 and LIMs, etc.

  • Must have attention to detail.

  • Ability to interact well with others in a team environment.
