A Country Manager is responsible for Growth and Profitability to meet/exceed annual plan for Kemin Agrifoods Asia (KAA) in Vietnam.  This is a leadership role with P&L responsibility and operational role of the Country Manager reports directly to the sales director. The Country Manager is a servant-leader, highly motivated, self-driven and experienced techno-commercial leader with a proven sales & marketing track record and leading and developing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Focus on Growth and Productivity to meet/exceed annual business plan
  • Responsible for managing all operations within Vietnam. This involves taking responsibility for net sales, gross margin and operating income targets for the country.
  • Responsible for the annual country budget and for producing a detailed annual business operating plan.
  • Hire, Train, Coach and Develop Local Talent
  • Provide direction and leadership to the Kemin Vietnam team through frequent interaction and communication with target customers, Kemin Asia commercial, research, support functions and the leadership team.
  • Co-ordination with KAA for all technical, commercial, administrative and legal and regulatory assistance.
  • Solely responsible for establishing Kemin presence and driving sales & marketing activities in the designated geography.
  • Monitoring competitive activity and market trends and regularly reporting on those trends. Advise the executive leadership team on key planning issues and make recommendations on important business decisions.
  • Develop and maintain prospect and customer list based on strategic marketing data and other sources for sales leads.
  • Penetrate prospect target accounts for new business as well as establish and work with partners in the territory.
  • Responsible for establishing the channel network within the designated geography.
  • Appoint and train distributors in conjunction with KAA Sales Director / regional sales manager on the SALT and KCAP sales process of Kemin.
  • Responsible for the monthly sales forecast and its accuracy.
  • Motivate, coach and develop staff and sales team to hit business targets, and through sound people’s management strategies.
  • Involves customer relationship and management and regular customer contact, with at least 10 monthly face-to-face customer meetings
  • Set and manage Kemin Vietnam product pricing in-alignment with Kemin Asia’s pricing policies that allow the achievement of the consolidated gross margin and sales goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in animal science or agricultural related discipline preferably with some financial qualifications or experience,
  • Minimum 7 years’ sales experience in agrifood or related industry of which at least 5 years in management capacity.
  • A strong understanding of how a business operates and the successful candidate will have a proven track record demonstrating business acumen.
  • The Country Manager needs to be able to deliver the highest standards of customer service.
  • Excellent interpersonal and people-management skills. A servant leader who leads by example.
  • Must have both the sales skills and technical knowledge to coach the sales team to make presentations and lead customer discussions to advance the sales process.
  • Ability to recruit staff and monitor performance.
  • Possesses good communication skills including an acceptable verbal and written English ability and excellent networking skills.
  • Must fully understand the products and services provided by the company.
  • Must be familiar with computer software programs eg Word, Excel etc.
