Overview

This position demands a high level of regional strategic insight and the ability to function both autonomously and within the KSSA team in order to realize the growth aspirations of the company. This is a management role in Kemin’s Sub Saharan Africa Business Unit tasked with successfully leading and managing the Southern Africa regional sales team. The key responsibilities include formulation of the regional sales strategy and execution thereof. You will provide direction, leadership and guidance to achieve sales growth in line with budget expectations whilst also developing a cohesive, professional and service orientated sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead an experienced team in a newly established structure.
  • Set budget and strategic plans and take accountability to execute.

    Build internal collaboration networks with our key support functions in marketing, engineering and laboratory services.

  • Ensure strong customer retention strategies.
  • Grow the business through robust business project pipelines.
  • Manage the sales processes through the customer service department to ensure seamless service delivery to our customers.
  • Set up KPI’s for the sales team to track and trace performance and apply coaching techniques.
  • Develop and formulate key account plans and ensure alignment with Sales and Marketing to execute plans.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Tertiary training, especially in a relevant field, required.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in the Animal Health and Nutrition Industry with a large part in sales leadership positions.

Essential skills:

  • A high degree of personal motivation, sense of urgency and desire to make an immediate contribution.
  • Strong coaching, employee development and leadership skills.
  • Proven people manager.
  • Experienced communicator.
  • An energetic and experienced team leader.
  • High level working knowledge of the industry.
  • Good oral and written skills in English.
