Overview

The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager plays a key role in driving the financial strategy of the organization by providing insightful analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to support decision-making, optimize financial performance, and ensure alignment with business objectives. Additionally, this role will work closely with business unit leadership to prepare business analysis and presentations.

 

This is an onsite position located at our Worldwide Headquarters in Des Moines, IA.

This position may require limited travel.

Responsibilities

  • Provide analysis needed for leadership team, including sales and CoGS trends
  • Support strategic planning, forecasting, and budgeting process for North and Central American divisions, including annual five-year sales plan
  • Partner with sales and marketing to prepare market analysis, customer analysis, product line performance, etc.
  • Review and analyze monthly sales performance including country, product, and gross margin results
  • Prepare and analyze monthly sales reports and commission calculations
  • Provide support to the commercial team by answering inquiries and fulfilling data requests
  • Present findings and recommendations to leadership in a clear and concise manner
  • Continuously improve financial processes and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Processing customer rebates, including accrual set up, review and payment
  • Oversee cost accounting function, including direct management of cost accountant
  • Analyze manufacturing variances, assess financial risks, and propose solutions
  • Assist the Finance team in monthly reporting
  • Assist the finance director on frequent ad-hoc projects

Qualifications

  • Masters degree and/or CPA with 5-7 years of relevant industry experience preferred or a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting with 7-10 years of relevant working experience preferably in a multinational company or manufacturing environment in an analyst role
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Thorough understanding of complex financial statements and forecasts
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Power BI and PowerPoint software
  • Proficiency with M3, Power BI, or Planful Financial Reporting strongly preferred
  • Highly energetic individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting principles
