Position Objective: 

This customer-centric role, driven by Kemin's spirit of "Compelled by Curiosity,"
focuses on driving sustainable business growth. The Regional Sales Manager leads and mentors a
high-performing team of sales managers, ensuring their success and development, while also
managing a significant portion of your own sales territory. This multifaceted role demands
consistent exceedance of sales budget targets while effectively managing operational expenses.
Key responsibilities include developing winning sales strategies and driving strong execution
across the team and within your own territory.

Responsibilities

 

Major Responsibilities:


Sales Leadership & Management:
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of sales team
• Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
• Monitor and analyze sales performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide
regular feedback to the sales team.
• Manage and motivate the sales team, fostering a positive and productive work
environment.
Sales Execution & Revenue Generation:
• Achieve and exceed sales targets by personally contributing to sales revenue within their
assigned territory.
• Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing.
• Implement pricing strategies that ensure 100% customer retention and ensuring gross
margin yoy growth


Competitive Analysis & Market Intelligence:


• Gather and analyze competitor data: Track competitor activities, pricing, product
launches, and market share.
• Identify competitive advantages: Leverage competitive insights to differentiate company
offerings and gain a competitive edge.
• Develop strategies to counter competitive threats: Adapt sales strategies to address
competitive challenges and maintain market share.
New Product Launches & Introductions:
• Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new product launches.
• Train the sales team in new product features, benefits, and selling points
Operational Excellence:
• Manage sales budgets and expenses efficiently.
• Implement sales processes, disciplines and best practices.
• Utilize sales technology effectively.
Customer Relationship Management:
• Championing customer satisfaction by addressing customer concerns and exceeding
customer expectations.
• Prioritize 100% customer retention
Team Development & Coaching:
• Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for sales representatives.
• Coach and mentor individual team members to improve their performance.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and growth.
Communication & Collaboration:
• Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including sales team members, other
departments (e.g., marketing, product development, technical, CLS, R&D, regulatory,
quality) and customers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
• Represent the company professionally at industry events and conferences.

 

In collaboration with the Leadership team, provide strategic directions for Kemin Food Technologies Asia to achieve the business unit leading and lagging indicators. Additional responsibilities may be discussed based on specific business needs and priorities

Qualifications

• Ideally a master’s degree in business administration, Food Science, Engineering or a
related field
• Minimum 7 years of proven success in sales and business development within the food ingredients with customer networks in bakery & confectionary, sauces & seasoning and processed meat
• At least 3-5 years of experience in a regional sales leadership role, managing and mentoring high-performing sales teams across multiple territories/countries
• Demonstrated experience in achieving and exceeding sales targets, developing and implementing successful sales strategies, and managing key customer accounts.
• Strong understanding of food science and technology principles.
• Proficiency in using CRM systems, sales forecasting tools, and other relevant software.
• Fluency in English is essential with proficiency in one or more Asian languages (e.g.,
Mandarin, Hindi, Japanese) is highly advantageous
