Kemin Liquid Application Solutions is an integral component of the Kemin Agricultural business across the Australian (including PNG) & New Zealand (including the Pacific Region) Region. More than half of our solutions, for the Monogastric and Feed Milling sectors, are offered in a liquid form. For these solutions to be effective they require the provision of tailored equipment to apply our liquids safely, accurately and effectively.

As our business grows, we now have the opportunity to employ a suitable person for our role of Trainee Electrical Technician to join our Kemin Agri ANZ team. This role involves working closely with our Liquid Application Solutions Engineer to learn and understand the principals of applicator design, installation, fabrication, upgrades, commissioning, and maintenance. Reporting to and working with local the Sales Team in Australia & New Zealand and regional Engineering/Product Managers (based in Singapore) is a requirement of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Routine maintenance of the existing 60+ applicators throughout the region.
  • Strive to maintain high product quality standards by designing test procedures and methods.
  • Provide day to day monitoring and after sales support via telephone, email and remote access software.
  • Design, configuration, integration and implementation of liquid dosing systems from request to solution.
  • Develop Piping & Instrument Diagram’s, electrical schematics, user manuals and installation guides.
  • Assist on-site installations, commissioning and give training to the local operators.
  • Actively participate in attending local exhibitions, seminars, training and workshops.

Qualifications

  • Third- or Fourth-Year Electrical Apprentice Electrician, with the ability to work across the region and comply with local electrical standards once fully qualified.
  • Be a motivated self-starter, confident in team situations, and well-developed communication skills (spoken, and written) across varying situations, including to teams where English isn’t first language.
  • Is well organized and can work independently and / or in a team of varied positions.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and a ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems and perform system tests.
  • Ability to design / read electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Be willing to comply with our customers’ onsite Health and Safety, Biosecurity and other requirements as stipulated both internally, and at our customer’s request.
  • An interest in working in the progressive Livestock Industry, which included components across Feed Production, Monogastric (pig, poultry and livestock) farming, rendering and water treatment solutions.
  • Ability to work remotely and manage demands of regional and international travel.
  • Up to 50% travel required, as scheduled, or for emergency maintenance as required.
  • An understanding of PLC programming, infield systems and software development and interfacing with external providers is an advantage.
  • Have a desire to learn and grow, undergo training and further education.
  • Ability to undertake tasks requiring physical activity (including stairs) and a pre-employment medical check is required.
  • Work environments include offices, workshops, and on-site processing plants, home office.
  • Must be fluent in English and domiciled in Australia.
  • Driver’s License Essential.
  • Having a current passport is essential, with the ability to travel freely between Australia, New Zealand, PNG and the Pacific Islands as required. Intermittent travel may be required into Asia for team events and other business activities.
