Overview

We're hiring! Kemin is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team in Des Moines, Iowa.  The Quality Assurance Specialist will require a high attention of detail and excellent communicator as they will be responsible for maintaining our QMS programs.

Responsibilities

  • Must maintain proper quality documentation.
  • Assist or participate with external audit(s), as needed.
  • Facilitate the Corrective Action/Preventive Action (CAPA) investigation and follow up, as applicable.
  • Perform batch record reviews, with minimal supervision, as applicable.
  • Must follow all procedures and SOPs/forms and assist with updates.
  • May collect samples, prepare shipments and inspect raw materials and finished goods.
  • Review raw material, finished goods, packaging release, and bring variances forward, as applicable.
  • Running reports, inputting specifications as defined, as applicable.
  • Investigate nonconformities, as applicable.
  • Review and request supplier documents, as applicable.
  • Pull and send reports as applicable.
  • Must work closely with cross functional teams (including Operations, R&D, and other quality groups.)
  • Follows and maintains an environment of food and/or feed safety in compliance with rules and regulations, as applicable.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience:
    • Associates Degree with 5 years of related experience OR
    • Bachelors Degree with up to 3 years of related experience
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team.
  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Must be able to use computer systems, MS Office, M3, LIMs, etc.
  • Must have attention to detail.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with SPC principles and practices.
  • Ability to operate, troubleshoot, perform maintenance, instruct and perform method
    validation on lab equipment.
  • Must have basic math skills.
