The (Sr) Process Engineer will lead /manage projects, including development of new facilities, processes, and integration of acquisitions.  The position will be responsible to support operation director in Brazil (Valinhos, Vale Verde, Vargeo), but could support other US and potentially global operations, with engineering expertise and analysis to achieve project design and execution along with process optimization.  He/she will lead continual development of standards of excellence and share best practices for engineering excellence across the organization.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Lead for brownfield/greenfield factory setup, as a contributing Process/Project Engineer
  • Hands on experience with developing PFDs, P&IDs, batch cycle times, equipment/instrument datasheets and specifications, layouts material/people flow, and mass and energy balances.
  • Lead/facilitate stake holder scope reviews and hazard reviews (HAZOP).
  • Generate process descriptions.
  • Develop control logic for operations.
  • Manage engineering firms, as well as manage/collaborate with construction managers to ensure adherence to project schedules and budgets.
  • Develop commissioning plans and lead the commissioning effort.
  • Develop startup plans and provide startup support.
  • Work with supply chain to initiate process improvements, develop conceptual and detailed design deliverables, and lead the project through to successful implementation.
  • Approve equipment vendor selection and submittal drawings.
  • Inspect/approve field installations.
  • Collaborate with WW engineering group on projects and provide expertise, guidance, and recommendations on global projects as needed.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Chemical or mechanical engineering degree, but with heavy concentration in process and process development.
  • 5 – 10 years of process design experience (EPC, food/feed/life science industry preferred)
  • 2 – 3 years of work experience in industrial setting (animal feed/premix/pet food/chemical API)
  • Comfortable in matrix organization.
  • Excellent understanding of construction materials and methods and best practices in Brazil.
  • Proficient in MS Project or other project management software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of company leadership.
  • Knowledgeable in site-specific safe work practices, legislative requirements, and standards.
  • Physical location will be in Valinhos, Brazil.
