Our Kemin Industries Research and Development team is hiring a Scientist to join their team! In this role, you will be a technical leader within the team. Additionally, you will work with multiple cross functional teams, performing literature reviews and incorporating into research strategies. This position identifies internal and external opportunities to obtain new intellectual property and evaluating external intellectual property.

Independently lead multiple R&D projects.
Manage and mentor direct reports to reach goals.
Act as technical lead on multiple cross functional teams.
Review and approve SOPs, research protocols, and research methods.
Responsible for performing literature reviews and incorporating into research strategies
Identify internal and external opportunities to obtain new intellectual property and evaluating external intellectual property and freedom to operate issues.
Responsible for identifying and participating in external research collaborations.
Must be able to actively identify and lead research areas that could lead to new product development or process improvement, with minimal supervision.
Maintain accurate and detailed electronic laboratory notebooks.
Independently perform advanced data analysis and review others data.
Prepare and present research reports in multiple formats for both internal and external audiences.
Generate scientific publications used for internal or external purposes.
Review other’s technical reports.
Must adhere to laboratory standard operating procedures, documentation and guidelines.
Troubleshoot issues with laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
Participate in strategic planning and customer meetings.
Must have a solid understanding and adherence to the Servant Leadership philosophy
Detail oriented, organized, prioritization skills, and motivated by accomplishment.
Must be able to work independently and have the ability to work in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment
Ability to interact well with others in a team environment.
Strong experimental design and problem solving skills.
Ability to present ideas effectively
Good written and oral communication skills, suitable for external presentations.
Advanced computer knowledge (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.)
Ability to understand and perform advanced statistical analysis
Analytical lab skills.
Ability to maintain instruments.
