Overview

We're hiring! Kemin is seeking a Business Analyst to join our team. The Business Analyst role offers a unique opportunity to drive impactful change within Kemin by identifying business improvement opportunities and delivering solutions that enhance organizational value. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll tackle both standard and complex projects, using your analytical and communication skills to shape processes and support strategic IT initiatives. Reporting to senior IT leadership, this position offers a dynamic, collaborative environment to grow your expertise and make a tangible difference across the company.

 

Candidates must be located in Des Moines, Iowa. Candidates with lesser experience may be considered for a commensurate role.

Responsibilities

  • Elicit information to understand business goals of projects.
  • Perform stakeholder analysis and plan engagement approach.
  • Identify BA activities and deliverables required to achieve projects goals.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings such as requirement workshops to elicit information.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to determine solution scope to support value delivery.
  • Capture, document and validate elicitation outcomes.
  • Use collaboration tools effectively such as white-boarding, visual modelling and wireframe to create shared understanding during elicitation.
  • Communicate complex concepts and data in concise and logical manner such that it is understandable.
  • Guide stakeholder in requirements prioritization if needed, ensure basis is followed.
  • Facilitate impact analysis and resolution activities related to requirement change.
  • Synthesize complex data from disparate source and understand how they impact the enterprise.
  • Perform some of the BA3 functions below (with guidance):
    • Conduct the enterprise readiness assessment related to business capabilities improvements.
    • Identify potential changes to business processes, technology, infrastructure, and business rules.
    • Define and mitigate undesirable consequences while transitioning to a final future state.
    • Perform analysis on information elicited with a holistic view (people, processes, and technology)
  • Perform requirement analysis.
  • Use appropriate modelling technique in requirement analysis.
  • Ensure that the set of requirements is complete, cohesive and tells the audience the full story.
  • Perform data analysis to make sure requested changes and solutions are supported by data.
  • Develop design options that aligned with the desired future state.
  • Measure solution performance using defined metrics and process.
  • Identify performance trends, variances, root causes, and recommend actions.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing and gather feedback.
  • Conduct lessons learned activities.
  • Provide regular status update and data reporting.
  • Engage in BA team knowledge sharing, discussion, and brainstorming.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelors Degree in IT with 3+ years effective business analysis experience. 
  • IIBA CPAP or similar certificate is preferred. 
  • Experience in scrum projects, with hands-on experience in story mapping and backlog planning.
  • Effective team player within cross functional project team.
  • Effective in working with people from different countries/cultures.
  • Effective in discovering and understanding real business needs and problems.
  • Effective in managing difficult stakeholders.
  • Effective in using appropriate modelling techniques in analysis and designs.
  • Able to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Good at analytical thinking and problem solving.
  • Good at communication skills such as active listening, verbal and written communication.
  • Good at interaction skills such as facilitation, negotiation, teaching, and conflict resolution.
  • Capable of leading discussion and keep them focused and organized.
  • Capable of using structured approach to solve complex problems.
  • Having basic knowledge about business processes (finance, supply chain, marketing, etc.)
  • Familiar with project management methodology and Microsoft Project software.
  • Familiar with data analysis techniques and methodology.
  • Familiar with Agile concepts and DevOps processes.
  • Familiar with CRM software (Customer Relationship Management) and ERP software (Enterprise Resource Planning).
  • Familiar with concepts around enterprise architecture, quality assurance, security and infrastructure.
