Overview

The primary purpose of this position is to execute and support customer laboratory service (CLS), application research and/or new Kemin product projects. This execution and support comes in several major areas, develop project protocols to demonstrate effectiveness of all products in potential customers’ operations, support Sales, Marketing and/or Technical Services Managers as an active team member, discussing projects and new opportunities for Kemin product sales, monitor test progress and summarize data to prove product effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the initiation, execution and timely reporting of Customer Lab Service (CLS) projects, in order to support the value of our products and services to the customer
  • Contribute in design of experiments ensuring scientific rigor. Execute in an accurate manner the designed experiments to meet the agreed deadline and write the Laboratory Reports according to Kemin guidelines
  • Contribute in providing technical advice and recommendations for our customers based on the outcome of the experiments
  • Contribute in development, validation and implementation of new and improved test methods (including the use of statistical analysis)
  • Maintain CLS database, files, and log books
  • Maintain good laboratory practices in recording data, calibration of equipment to ensure accuracy of results, general laboratory maintenance and disposal
  • Trouble-shooting and problem solving of product/process failure
  • Managing the CLS lab and ensure optimal analytical working
  • Perform literature search to continuously extend knowledge in the field of anti-oxidants, mycotoxins and anti-microbials for food and feed

Qualifications

  • Minimal a master’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry or bioengineering, a PhD degree is an asset
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on analytical lab experience including 1/ experience in separation technology 2/ analytical method development and 3/ troubleshooting experience with HPLC, and spectrophotometric instruments, knowledge in mass spectrometry is an advantage.
  • Experience with microbiology testing is a valuable asset 
  • Demonstrated ability to translate, develop and adopt new methods and products and perform solid statistical analysis
  • Familiar with quality systems (e.g. ISO)
  • Experience in evaluating and interpreting data
  • Experience with writing reports
  • Good oral and written skills in English and Russian
  • Computer literate
  • Very hands-on, good organization skills, pro-active, and strife for challenges and personal growth
  • Able to work independently under pressure
  • Able to travel within EMEA
  • Flexible, diligent, good team player with self-motivation and initiative
  • A very good and open communicator
