Overview

At Kemin Animal Nutrition & Health, Asia Pacific (KAA), the Product Manager for Animal Health/Intestinal Health reports directly to the Marketing Director. This role oversees the product’s marketing activities and develops a fully integrated brand/marketing strategy to expand market share and achieve key performance indicators: People Transformed, Net Sales, and Gross Profit/Margin. The Product Manager ensures customer satisfaction with product quality, technical support, and services, increasing the brand’s footprint while staying true to its value proposition.

Responsibilities

  1. Vision and Mission: Craft and lead the product’s vision and mission.
  2. Performance Targets: Achieve annual targets in People Transformed, Net Sales, and Gross Profit/Margin by:
    • Proposing selling prices for approval by the Marketing Director and Sales Director.
    • Collaborating with the Purchasing team to manage costs and the Logistics team to ensure timely order fulfillment.
    • Managing customer complaints by teaming up with the R&D, QA/QC, and Operations teams to address concerns and overcome gaps to optimize customer satisfaction.
  3. Customer Engagement: Engage with the top 20 customers in key Asia Pacific markets, collecting insights from the Customer’s Point of View (CPOV).
  4. Market Analysis: Maintain a clear understanding of market trends and identify opportunities for growth and profitability.
  5. Product Launches: Ensure timely product launches by:
    • Continuously analyzing market size, market share, and the competitive landscape.
    • Developing comprehensive marketing plans, including customer segmentation, value proposition, market share, and channel-to-market strategies.
    • Prioritizing markets for registration and launch.
    • Forming cross-functional teams to achieve desired results.
  6. Marketing Plan Refresh: Annually refresh the marketing plan for existing products and lead product life cycle management.
  7. Sales Ownership: Collaborate with the regional sales teams, providing tools, materials, and presentations to meet commercial objectives.
  8. Collaboration:
    • Work with the Marketing Communications team to create and implement successful communication campaigns across print, digital, and social media.
    • Collaborate with Customer Laboratory Service (CLS) and Technical Service (TS) teams to provide support and shorten the sales cycle.
  9. Customer Service Plan: Establish a plan to ensure effective and efficient customer service.
  10. Strategic Planning: Actively contribute to KAA’s leadership team’s strategic planning.

Qualifications

  1. Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a technical and marketing capacity in the Animal Nutrition and Health Industry, preferably with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
  2. Competency: Strong product management and marketing skills (a professional degree in product marketing or management is advantageous).
  3. Technical Knowledge: Competence in Animal Health/Intestinal Health and its applications in the livestock industry.
  4. Communication Skills: Effective communicator who can present ideas and communicate well with peers and all company levels.
  5. Business Mindset: Entrepreneurial mindset, accountability, initiative, and risk-taking.
  6. Track Record: Proven track record of consistently achieving financial targets.
  7. Motivation: High degree of personal motivation, urgency, and a desire to make an immediate contribution.
  8. Attributes: Confidence, drive, dynamism, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

 

Additional Information: The Product Manager for Animal Health/Intestinal Health will manage a range of products and has decision-making authority within their area of responsibility. This role includes managing projects across functions professionally and timely. Flexibility is essential, as additional work may be required after usual office hours. Regular regional and international travel is expected.
