Overview

The principle purpose of this position is to compute and prepare data for journal entries, review general ledger and related financial statements for reasonableness/accuracy. Accumulates and analyzes information for the preparation of financial statements, ledgers, reports and various cross-departmental reporting. Assists in preparing financial reports. Assists in monthly closing procedures for respective Kemin Company and affiliates.

Responsibilities

Critical Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Assist in daily and month end close procedures
  • Timely and accurate reconciliations of assigned account
  • Ability to manage time to ensure transactions are recorded timely and accurately
  • Ability to follow and document process and procedures
  • Ability to work across departments and business units to resolve issues with transactions
  • Assist with internal control process & procedures
  • Assist with cost accounting functions
  • Assist with pulling information for requested analysis
  • Ability to provide accurate data consistently
  • Provide in-depth analysis of business transactions, this includes but is not limited to; customer accounts, AP & AR aging, OPEX, manufacturing costs, and sales scorecard.

Other Functions: 

  • Apply Research findings to current needs.
  • Work with other departments such as marketing, R&D, operations, etc.
  • Research & documentation on financial accounting.
  • Develop and document process improvements.
  • Work with North America Finance Team on various projects including month end reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and various projects. This position will require flexibility during off business hours for meetings and collaboration with the North America Finance Team.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate/Bachelor degree in Finance or Accounting with 2-4 years of experience or Secondary/Pre-University diploma, or equivalent, with 5-7 years of applicable experience
  • Basic Knowledge of accounting principles of US GAAP and local Statutory
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Analytical abilities & organizational skills
  • Intermediate knowledge for Word, and PowerPoint software; Advanced level for  MS Excel
  • Ability to resolve complex issues and analytical reasoning.
  • Ideal candidate should have ability to work with minimum supervision, and a high level of accountability for their work
  • Candidates who have relevant working experience in pet food manufacturing environment will be highly advantageous
  • Proficiency in English speaking
