Overview

The KAS liquid application program manager is responsible to be part of the design, manufacturing and project planning for the product application systems and services Kemin offers to customers.

 

This position is responsible for the application solutions and services in the field. This position will coordinate a group of local based field, software and workshop engineers who report directly to him. This job involves applying theories to address problems, writing reports to outline these issues and solutions, and working with a team to help develop more efficient systems. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, logical thinker who enjoys working with different systems in combination with computers.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of new dosing systems.
  • Project team leader:
    • Take full responsibility, authority, and accountability for total project in terms of scope, time, quality, and cost.
    • Represent the company in the best manner at all time while ensuring that the contracted requirements of the contract and customer are met. (Plan, coordinate, integrate, communicate, expedite, and control every phase of the project.)
  • Responsible for identifying and reporting competitor activities in the market.
  • Maintain contact with customers.
  • Drawings.
  • Electrical and Mechanical:
    • Develop detailed drawings for manufacturing.
    • Design, lay out, detail components for systems and resolve design problems.
  • Programming (Siemens PLC & HMI).
  • Manage and sign-off software engineering to design schematics, write and document programs, test programs, install programs and provide technical support. Work hand in hand with Kemin field engineers and their projects.
  • Prepare and implement SOP’s, manuals and user guides.
  • Assist the sales and technical team to gain new business as identified by the team to grow the business aligned with our strategic goals.
  • R&D Research and development on the latest technology in the field.
  • Identify business relevant opportunities to improve on the efficiency of the department.
  • Identify and implement business cost saving strategies to improve the operating costs of the department in line with our strategic drivers.
  • Managerial responsibility for the design, manufacture and installation of liquid product application systems from request to solution.
  • Participate in development of innovative application solutions to support the Kemin programs.
  • Monitor program efficiency with innovative tools to continuously develop the service.
  • Participate in attending local and international Kemin or related exhibitions, seminars, training, and workshops.
  • Responsible for managing, mentoring, and training the team of field engineers.
  • Set up and execute an installation and maintenance schedule.
  • Develop the KAS department through effective management of people.
  • Succession planning.

Qualifications

  • Education/Experience:
    • Tertiary qualification in electrical/mechanical engineering.
  • Recommendations:
    • Solid work experience.
    • Experience within the feedmill or process industry.
  • Experience: 10 years in mechanical or electrical industry.
  • Proven track record to manage people.
  • Technical skills:
    • PLC Programming (Siemens, Step 7 and IA Portal)
    • Ability to create drawings.
  • Industry knowledge:
    • Feed mills (Production process). 

  • Must be willing to travel locally and abroad, including African countries.
  • Able to manage time and tasks allowing concurrent and/ or overlapping tasks to be done simultaneously.
  • Draw up production lists (list of parts) after manufacturing an application system. Final control of these lists.
  • Identify and report competitor activities on the market.
